Bob is a sales and marketing expert. For the past 20 years, he has helped start-ups and Fortune 500 firms launch companies, release products and build marketing teams. He has been part of the leadership at five start-up companies in IT and the Life Sciences, as COO or Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He has helped raise almost $60 million in venture funding. Before focusing his career on start-ups and operating management, Bob built a highly successful career at IBM, where in addition to other roles he led IBM’s operations in northern Latin America and IBM's marketing to the financial services industry in Asia/Pacific and in Europe. He has lived in seven countries and has experience in the energy sector, government and technology as well as financial services and health care. Bob holds degrees in physics and electrical engineering from Williams College and MIT. .
Doug has decades of experience serving as a communications advisor to senior executives. He was named by Washington Life magazine in 2010 as one of the seven “Titans of PR” in Washington, DC, arguably one of the world’s most important communications centers. He has been part of the executive teams at three publicly traded companies. He founded a number of public relations and communications firms based in the Washington, DC, area prior to his involvement with Next Horizon. In 1991 he created a one-person investor relations firm that evolved into what became the largest independent communications firm in Washington, DC, and one of the 10 largest in the nation. Over the course of his career, Doug has led communications efforts for IPOs, product launches, and just about every issue that confronts an enterprise, including acquisitions and divestitures, Chapter 11 filings, repositioning campaigns, and internal communications efforts. His first assignment when still in his early 20s was to conduct the public relations campaign for the integration of public schools in Alexandria, Va., (memorialized in “Remember the Titans”). He has extensive experience in community-building and played a leading role in helping Northern Virginia achieve its status as a center of excellence for the global IT industry.
Marty is a marketing and communications authority, and has led some of the world’s most legendary campaigns. He was the founding executive director of USA for Africa, which produced the international anthem “We Are the World” and then mobilized over 7 million people for its “Hands Across America” project. These projects raised $100 million. Prior to Next Horizon, Marty was the founder of Marketing Concepts, which provided integrated marketing campaigns, brand building, cause-related marketing programs, strategic communications planning, crisis communications, public affairs and events management. He is a past president of Leadership Palm Beach County and chaired its ethics committee. He has played a substantial role in helping to advance the “Six Pillars” economic development campaign for South Florida.
